In response to: Papercrete

Barbara Watts [Visitor] · http://video collections
This papercrete has to be the best.
I am a 60 year old woman who would love to have her own home again. A few years back I lost my home in a flood. I am not the only one in this day and age who find themselves in this situation. I an not complaining. But would it not be nice if in places like calgary, AB or Edmonton, Ab or any other major centre where homeless people and those who are very close to being homeless could benefit from this knowledge. I am not going to speculate on why things are as bad as they are, however, if there was enought intrest do you not agree that things might be better for some?
Best to you
Barb Watts

In response to: When Politics Impedes Development

Isabel [Visitor]
Hi, i was wondering if this video had been posted somewhere other than the youtube link shown here... I've made a group for starting an EWB chapter in Venezuela, and since the politic situation is the way it is here, i've been concerned on this matter, how much could the goverment interfere with our range of action?

if it were possible to get the link, i would really appreciate it!
thanx

Do you know if green roofs have been applied to third world applications at all? In arid locations like Kenya, or Haiti?

In response to: Foot Pump used for Irrigation Project in Malawi

Kondwani Thapasila Gondwe [Visitor] · http://www.mzuni.ac.mw
I have watched the men working but I feel this is extra hard work.

I suggest that the government should consider distributing solar powered pumps. Even windmills would be better for the purpose.

Lets find good ways to assist people that to torture them.

In response to: Pulser pump

I find that 1 to 1 works fine.
The flow I find best is plug flow mixed with bubble flow. I think the deep pumps are exclusively bubble flow (lots more turbulence) and perhaps this explains the difference.
I do not think low pressure airlift has been investigated properly.
The pumps I built are in ireland and I have not seen them in about 5 years.
The submergence on the best one is 2.5 m if I remember correctly and it is usually used to pump to just over 3 meters high.
Thanks for you interest
Brian

MauriciO GNECCO [Visitor]
Hi Brian. Congratulations! and sorry for my bad english I will do my best.
¿This type of air pumping process tally with deep well air pumping method? Using air compressor submergence of the end pipe in water most be double than head in order to have a more or less good effiency. Waiting for your news. Mauricio

To be honest with you, I have never written any comments or posts in the Internet. This is my first time. Why did I decide to post? The answer is simple – all information here is so amazing and interesting that it’s hard to imagine someone wouldn’t comment it.

Thanks for posting this video. What great hope I have that wind power can bring sustainable energy not only to remote areas but also to the developed world cities.

You are showing the way, volunteering, working, spreading the word. Keep up the good work.
